Optimism and hope are hard virtues to maintain around this place. This week has not been a good one, though that has allowed me to discover that "if at first you don't succeed, call a friend for conferencing over a beer" is an excellent action plan. Particularly if said friend has a wicked sense of humor and loves science more than you do.
